PANAKEIA MARANANGA SHIRAZ 2015

  • Short description
De-stemmed, temperature controlled and fermented in stainless steel vessels for 5-7 days on skins. Aged in a mixture of seasoned French and American hogs-head barrels for no less than 18 months prior to bottling. The use of seasoned oak allows the truth of the variety, region and season to show without being overshadowed by excessive wood characteristics
  • Classification/ Type
    Australian red wine
  • Tasting
    o Color: Deep garnet red
o Nose: Camphor wood spice followed by red and black berry notes with underlying black pepper, and hints of star anise
o Palate: Medium to bodied with well-rounded tannins and a fresh line of acidity. Mahogany wood, wood polish and raisiny structured finish. The mature oak characters meld elegantly with the lingering black fruits and spice of this wine

These low yielding crops consistently produce a balanced premium Shiraz that can improve with age but is eminently enjoyable through all phases of it's maturity
