Ownership & History
Chateau Yveline has been in the Durand family for over 2 centuries. It is really at the beginning of the 20th century that the story of the Chateau has been marked by destiny. André Durand, the grandfather of Christian Durand, the current owner, dies prematurely in 1927. His wife decided to take care of the Chateau in order that it stays in the family and even give the name of its two children to the Chateau: Yves and Jacqueline which gonna become Yveline. Today, Christian is in charge of the
estate, always looking to produce high quality wines mixing tradition and modernity.
-
Vineyard & Location
Chateau Yveline is located near to Neac, on the right bank of the Garonne River. The 3-hectare estate lies at the edge of Lalande de Pomerol AOC, Pomerol AOC and Montagne Saint Emilion AOC.
-
Harvest, vinification & ageing
Harvest is carried out by hand, and the grapes are sorted twice: first in the vineyard, then again at the winery with a sorting table. Christian Durand does a traditional Bordeaux vinification in a mix of Stainless steel and concrete vats.
